1 Small High-Carb, Low-Fat, Low-Salt Vegan Pizza

 Adapted from Freelee O Frugivore's Pizza Recipe

What You'll Need:

Parchment Paper 

Cookie Sheet or Cake Tin

Directions:

Line sheet/tin with parchment paper.

Pizza Dough:

1 cup All-purpose, Gluten- & Salt-free Flour

1/4 tsp. Baking Powder or 1/8 tsp. Baking Soda

Dried Onion, Garlic, Herbs and Chili Powder

3 tsp. Coconut Sugar or Sucanat (Evaporated Sugar Cane Juice)

 1/2 cup Water

Mix together dry ingredients. Add water. Mix together thoroughly with a utensil, and then knead dough with hands. 

Spread dough out thinly and evenly. Fold a bit of the outer edges of the dough in to make a crust. 

Pizza Sauce:

1/4 to 1/2 cup Salty Tomato Sauce

2-3 oz. Salt-Free Tomato Paste

chopped Fresh Herbs

Toppings:

Red Onion
(red is milder)

Sweet Corn
(watch out for GMO, buy Organic)

 Cherry/Grape Tomatoes

Spring/Green Onions

Pineapple
(fresh is best)

Potatoes
(cooked)

Artichoke Hearts

Mushrooms
(canned or cooked)

(Mini) Bell Peppers
(green ones are unripe)

Directions:

Boil diced potatoes and sliced mushrooms on high 'til tender.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Mix together sauce.

Chop up toppings that need it.

Pop pizza crust in the oven for 10 minutes.

Take pizza out and top with sauce and whatever toppings you desire.

Put pizza in oven, panless, for 10 minutes more.

All done!

Something you could also add is sliced black olives.
(I think this would have made my pizza even tastier!)

The Deadly Vaccination Truth Uncovered




As shown on the above chart, vaccines can cause mild to fatal reactions. Vaccine risk may be a difficult thing to precisely assess, but undeniably each vaccine includes a significant risk worth considering and investigating. The following excerpt outlines a few major problems concerning the monitoring and risks of vaccinations.

Underreporting


Many doctors, understandably, are not willing to admit causation, blame or potential liability and have little incentive to report. Although the federal government's adverse reactions data are already alarming, even the FDA confesses that serious reactions to vaccines go unreported by doctors nearly 90% of the time. Some experts estimate that underreporting may be far worse than these figures.

Faulty Methods


Questionable criteria are too often used in evaluating vaccine “safety.” The practice of biased, skewed science has become commonplace in pharmaceutical risk assessment.

For example: 

a. Death or weight gain/loss in mice is used to determine human risk -- even though animal tests have consistently proven to be inappropriate for human safety assessment.

b. Often, one vaccine is evaluated for adverse effects and compared to another vaccine’s adverse effects, not placebo.

c. The EPA uses Methyl mercury to evaluate the mercury in vaccines, even though ethymercury goes into thimerosol (preservative in vaccines). 

d. Many “safety studies” only report adverse effect within a limited time frame. Six, seven or fourteen days after injection is often the cut off criteria for causation.

Risk Assessment is Elusive


Chronic auto-immune, neurological disorders, and other effects of vaccines are difficult to establish by their very nature. Ask yourself this: if you drank something moderately poisonous and ten days later came down with symptoms, could you prove, definitively, a causal link between the two? This could be more difficult than you might think, especially if there were influential counterforce with every incentive in the world to prove that it was coincidental or untrue. In the past thirty years, rates of asthma and AD have doubled, diabetes and learning disabilities have tripled.

New Diseases


In 2004, scientists reported in the Journal of Virology the emergence of a new virus due to the amalgamation of a flavivirus called "Modoc" with the yellow fever vaccine virus. The risk of creating an emerging, pathogenic virus during recombination between vaccine viruses and other viruses is very real, and cannot be ignored. 

Perhaps the gravest of concerns is how neurotoxin and carcinogenic (cancer-causing) substances within vaccines are having long-term health effects on our children. As more and more vaccines are added to the “recommended” and “mandatory” lists, young parents are being told that their children must be injected with thirty-seven doses of eleven different vaccines before the age of five.


Autism is a disease involving the brain, the immune system, and the gastrointestinal tract. Once an uncommon disorder in the United States, the incidence of autism is now occurring at epidemic rates. Whereas during the 1970's one in 10,000 children developed autism, it now affects as many as one in 150. During the 1970's and 80's, the federal government established goals for improving vaccination rates. To achieve high vaccination rates (97%), the government implemented nationwide vaccine initiatives, which included offering federal grants to states and encouraging strict enforcement (state mandates for forced vaccination). During this time period, the number of mandated vaccines gradually increased (from 8 in 1980 to 22 in 2000) as vaccination became a requirement for a much younger population (the majority of all 30 childhood vaccines are administered before the age of 18 months). Only after these developments did autism cross class lines. Today autism is widespread in all socioeconomic groups. While it is certain that genetics predisposes individuals to certain diseases, as with all pathology the triggers for disease involve immune system dysfunction brought about by dietary deficiencies and/or environmental stress. In the case of autism, research shows that a high percentage of those affected are victims of massive chemical toxicity. The neurological damage that is characteristic with autism is strikingly similar to the well-established side effects of mercury, aluminum and formaldehyde toxicity. These neurotoxins are common vaccine ingredients. During the 1940's and 50's when only some of the population was exposed to only a few vaccines, autism was primarily confined to the upper and upper-middle socioeconomic classes, those who could afford good health care and the cost of vaccination. Strong correlation between autism and vaccine history becomes even more credible when the disease characteristics for both autism and mercury poisoning are compared:

Should You Consume Soy Products?


(NaturalNews) Prior to the 1920s, soy was not even considered a food product in the US and was thought to be unfit for human consumption. After 1950, the cultivation of soybeans in the US rose to over 140 billion pounds per year. Over 90% of soy grown in the United States is genetically modified (GM). Most soy consumption is anything but healthy and has strongly contributed to many different health problems.

Processed soy contains high amounts of glutamate, manganese, fluoride and aluminum along with toxic processing chemicals. Studies have proven that the heavy consumption of GM soy has increased food allergies and resistance to antibiotics, lowered thyroid function, increased risk of dementia, impaired our immune systems and contributed to cancer formation.



Soy products as a health food:


Soy products became the rave of health food enthusiasts years ago with very little evidence of health benefits attributed to them. Today, we understand that soy is riddled with antinutrients that compromise digestion and immune balance. Here is a list of the detrimental compounds found within soy products:


1) Phytic acids: These reduce micronutrient assimilation and are found in all legumes, nuts and seeds. Soy is particularly high in phytic acids that bind to zinc, magnesium, calcium, copper and iron in the digestive tract. High consumption leads to nutrient deficiencies and chronic disease development.



2) Trypsin inhibitors: These block protein absorption and enzyme production and utilization within the body. The lack of enzymes creates more digestive stress which leads to intestinal permeability. Intestinal permeability causes antibody formation to normal food stuffs and leads to chronic inflammation and auto-immune disease progression.



3) Goitrogens: These interfere with iodine metabolism, block the formation of thyroid hormones and can lead to hypothyroidism. Soy formula consumption has been linked with auto-immune thyroid disorders.



4) Phytoestrogens and isoflavones: These are plant compounds that resemble human-produced estrogen and disrupt normal hormone production in the body. High amounts of phytoestrogens are linked with infertility and certain cancers in both men and women. 



5) Hemagglutinin: This is a type of complex protein in the family of lectins that affects other proteins and causes them to stick together. Hemagglutinin has a particular affinity for red blood cells and causes them to clump up, which slows blood flow and oxygen extraction into the cells.



These compounds are found in high amounts within processed soy products such as soy milk, soy protein, soy-based infant formulas, soy burgers and cheeses, soy sauces and soybean oil. There are many additional issues other than the five listed above with processed soy that relate to all processed foods. Processed soy is also most likely going to be genetically modified and loaded with toxic debris.

Many health enthusiasts have strongly recommended more natural forms of raw, unprocessed soy such as tofu and edamame. These are certainly better than highly processed soy, but both contain all of the harmful compounds listed above.

Hemp: Most Versatile Plant in the World is Prohibited from being Grown in (most of) America.

Freshwater Breakthrough as Huge Aquifers are Discovered Beneath Ocean Floor...


(NaturalNews) Hidden beneath the depths of the world's oceans are large pockets of mostly fresh water that could serve as replacement water sources for the many land-based aquifers that are on the verge of drying up, a new study suggests. Discovered off the coasts of Australia, China, North America and South Africa, these massive underwater aquifers contain such high amounts of freshwater, say Australian researchers, that water shortages could become a thing of the past.

It is estimated that roughly half a million cubic kilometers of low-salinity water are just waiting to be tapped underneath various sections of ocean seabed, a volume that the researchers who discovered the water say is many times greater than the overall volume extracted from land-based aquifers throughout the past 100-or-so years. Assuming this water can be successfully extracted and transported, they say it could provide sustenance to the nations of the world for many years to come.

"The volume of this water resource is a hundred times greater than the amount we've extracted from the Earth's sub-surface in the past century since 1900," says Dr. Vincent Post from the National Centre for Groundwater Research and Training and the Flinders University School of the Environment. "Knowing about these reserves is great news because this volume of water could sustain some regions for decades."

Published in the international scientific journal Nature, Dr. Post and his colleagues' research confirms that there is far more freshwater buried inside the earth than previously believed. Instead of being a rare occurrence, these ocean-based aquifers are actually quite common, typically forming on continental shelves near coastlines.

"Our research shows that fresh and brackish aquifers below the seabed are actually quite a common phenomenon," adds Dr. Post. "Many aquifers were -- and are still -- protected from seawater by layers of clay and sediment that sit on top of them."


Because they are non-renewable, ocean-aquifers need to be utilized sustainably

 Believed to have formed during a previous age when sea level was much lower and coastlines were further out, underground ocean aquifers are only rare in the sense that they are non-renewable. In other words, once all the freshwater is extracted from them, there is no feasible way for new freshwater to take its place.

"[W]hen it rained, the water would infiltrate into the ground and fill up the water table in areas that are nowadays under the sea," explains Dr. Post. "It happened all around the world, and when the sea level rose... these areas were covered by the ocean."

In order to access this previously unknown source of freshwater, Dr. Post says platforms would have to be constructed out at sea in order to drill into the seabed. Either this or drilling would have to take place on the mainland or nearby islands and pipes run to the source of the water. In either case, care will need to be taken to protect these natural resources from becoming contaminated or destroyed.

"Sometimes boreholes are drilled into the aquifers for oil and gas exploration or production, or aquifers are targeted for carbon dioxide disposal," says Dr. Post. "These activities can threaten the quality of the water. We should use [the aquifers] carefully -- once gone, they won't be replenished until the sea level drops again, which is not likely to happen for a very long time."

Cooking with Splenda Found To Release Cancer-Causing Dioxins in Food

 

(NaturalNews) The long-term safety of the popular artificial sweetener Splenda (sucralose) has been called into question by a new review study published in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health. Researchers from the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) discovered that sucralose essentially releases cancer-causing dioxins in food when baked or otherwise heated, which is one of its primary marketed uses.

Citing an earlier study published by researchers from the Department of Pharmacology at Duke University in North Carolina, the review challenges a number of claims made in support of Splenda's alleged safety, including the claim by its manufacturer, McNeil Nutritionals, that sucralose passes through the body completely undigested. Evidence shows not only that this is false but also that sucralose is hardly the innocuous substance that we have all been led to believe it is.

"The study asserts that in human and rodent studies sucralose was shown to alter levels of glucose, insulin and glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1)," writes Laura Sesana for the Washington Times (WT). "The authors also warn that when sucralose is used for cooking at high temperatures it generates chloropropanols, a class of chemicals that may be linked to a higher risk of cancer."

Sucralose may be dangerous for people with diabetes; chemicals raise blood sugar, insulin

The blood sugar finding is particularly concerning, as Splenda is largely marketed to diabetics who have to watch their sugar intake. Many people who use Splenda or consume products that contain it typically do so because they believe it to be a healthier alternative to sugar, which is clearly not the case.

"Sucralose alters metabolic parameters and its chronic effects on body weight are unknown," reads the study, suggesting that the artificial sweetener may actually have diabetogenic properties, meaning it can actually cause diabetes.

 Evidence suggests sucralose is more of a drug than a food additive

Sucralose was also found in the study to alter the expressions of P-glycoprotein and cytochrome P in a manner similar to organochlorine drugs. This would suggest that sucralose is actually more of a drug than it is a food additive, which means it has no business being indiscriminately added to food without a proper drug warning.

 Long term health consequences of sucralose metabolites unknown

The only reason why Splenda even made it on the artificial sweetener scene in the first place is because it was claimed at the time that sucralose passes through the body "unchanged." But this latest study proves based on urine and fecal analysis that sucralose produces toxic metabolites, especially when heated, that have unknown long-term effects on human health.

"One study showed that the stability of sucralose decreased as the temperature and pH increased, with the breakdown process commencing at 119 degrees Celsius and temperatures of 180 degrees Celsius causing its complete degradation at all pH levels with the release of chloride ions," writes Sayer Ji for BeforeItsNews.com about the dangers of heated Splenda.

Whatever sucralose is not metabolized by the body ends up passing through into sewers and eventually water treatment plants, where it accumulates and eventually gets released into the environment. This bio-accumulation threatens to not only taint rivers, streams and other water sources, but also contaminate fish and other animals.

"Because the body does not metabolize 85 percent of sucralose ingested, most of it ends up in sewage treatment systems," explains Sesana. "Sucralose is resistant to water treatments for the same reason that it is not easily broken down by the body, resulting in sucralose being released into surface waters."

GMOs Cause Horrible Deformities, Birth Defects in Piglets

"When using GM feed I saw symptoms of bloat, stomach ulcers, high rates of diarrhea, pigs born with deformities," explained Pedersen to The Ecologist's Andrew Wasley, who recently conducted an in-depth investigation into the link between GMOs and animal health problems. "But when I switched [to non-GM feed] these problems went away, some within a matter of days."

Switching to non-GM feed reduces costs, boosts profits

Pedersen's case is hardly an isolated one, as animal farmers all over the world are now reporting more illness and death associated with the use of GM animal feed, problems that typically go away when GM feed is replaced with non-GM feed. Monsanto's Roundup Ready soybeans are especially problematic, as they are doused with the toxic herbicide glyphosate, which numerous studies have linked to causing birth defects, endocrine disruption and other problems.

"Farmers who have worked to exclude GM ingredients from their feed report dramatic improvements in herd health," says Claire Robinson from the group GM Watch. "Farmers should be worried and should not settle for what some scientists are calling a 'new norm' of increased rates of malformations, deaths and digestive and reproductive problems, as GM feed becomes more common."

Those like Pedersen who have made the switch to non-GM feed say it has actually saved them money in the long run. Not only are there fewer animal health issues that require treatment when using non-GM feed, they say, but transgenic corn and soy also hampers productivity.

"In my experience, farmers have found increased production costs and escalating antibiotic use when feeding GM crops," says Howard Vlieger, an Iowa-based farmer who helped coordinate an independent study comparing the health of pigs fed GM feed to those fed non-GM feed. The findings of Vlieger's study corroborate what Pedersen observed on his farm.

Finding affordable, non-GM feed, however, is an entirely different story. The unfortunate reality is that even in places like Europe where GMOs are widely rejected by the public, and where GMO labeling is mandatory, non-GM animal feed is getting harder and harder to come by. And this, of course, is due to the fact that corporations like Monsanto dominate the seed stocks used by staple crop growers throughout North and South America.

"It's a nightmare trying to source non GM feed," stated one U.K.-based supermarket source to The Ecologist. "The reality is that trying to source it on the scale needed [by large retailers] is very difficult. The feed companies own the boats, the mills, they control the supply chain."

Flu Shot Kills 19-year-old, but Vaccine Industry Still Has Total Immunity Against Lawsuits!


(NaturalNews) The flu shot has claimed its first victim in the state of Utah, at least according to state health officials who insist that there is no official record of any individual ever previously dying as a result of the annual jab. 19-year-old Chandler Webb, a formerly healthy young man who worked out at the gym daily, reportedly suffered violent reactions and slipped into a coma just one day after getting his first flu vaccine ever, which prompted his death just a few weeks later.

Chandler was given the flu shot as part of a routine physical he received in preparation for an upcoming mission with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Salt Lake Tribune (SLT) reports that the young man suffered his first adverse reactions on October 16, just one day after getting jabbed. His symptoms included violent shaking, headaches and vomiting, all of which were the worst he had ever experienced.

"He said he never shook so hard in his whole life," sobbed Lori Webb, Chandler's mother. "He had the worst headache, throw up."

Chandler's health continued to decline in the immediate days following the vaccine, prompting his parents to take him to the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. A team of six neurologists ran a battery of tests on the young man, testing him for every known virus, bacterium and fungus, but came up with nothing.

After weeks of being in a coma, Chandler eventually died as a result of severe brain swelling, which just so happens to be a common adverse effect associated with vaccinations. Though the hospital and the state say they cannot talk about the details of the case, Chandler's parents have since ordered a brain biopsy to verify the cause of death, which they believe was the vaccine.

"We're angry because we believe it's the flu shot that [caused] it," said Lori. "I've never been so scared in all my life to see my son go through so much."

In an interview with Fox13Now.com, Utah state epidemiologist Dr. Allyn Nakashima admitted that the flu can cause severe adverse events, but such events are rare. Stopping short of fessing up and definitively linking flu vaccines to causing the type of brain swelling that killed Chandler -- such swelling is commonly referred to in the medical literature as encephalitis -- Dr. Nakashima conceded to an association between the two.

"We certainly have seen associations of encephalitis or encephalitis-type illnesses following flu vaccine," stated Dr. Nakashima to reporters. "It's very rare, and we can't necessarily say there's a cause and effect here, [but] we can say there's an association."

Tom Hudachko, a Utah Department of Health spokesman, provided a similar spiel. He told SLT reporters that, while rare, "more severe side effects" can result from getting the flu shot, essentially affirming what Chandler's family observed in their loved one. Yet at the same time, the agency stopped short of all-out implicating the flu vaccine as the cause of Chandler's death.

Lori told reporters that she plans to seek justice for her son through the legal system, apparently unaware of the fact that back in 1986 the Supreme Court granted immunity -- oh the irony -- to drug companies against certain lawsuits arising from injuries or deaths associated with vaccines. This so-called law was affirmed back in 2011 by Justice Antonin Scalia, who wrote for the majority that the parents of vaccine-injured children will have to continue dealing with the illegitimate "vaccine court."

How To Eat A Vegan Diet In La Veta

Stuff I buy at Charlie's, Safeway in Walsenburg, or at Natural Grocers in Pueblo...

1. Produce

I always get a box of Bananas. Organic or Conventional doesn't matter, try both and see which you prefer. Don't trust conventional? Read my post about it here: http://pumpkinberry.blogspot.com/2014/05/12-fruits-veggies-with-most-pesticides.html

Take them out of the box as soon as you get home and set them out in a clump together so they can ripen properly. They are ripe when you can make a slight indent in their peel with your finger (they will have lots of spots which means they have the anti-tumor necrosis factor present, and they're sweeter, the starches have converted to simple sugars which are easier to digest).
If you can't eat them all as quick as you'd like, put them in the fridge before they become too ripe.
You can also put them in the freezer (unpeeled and in freezer bags) IF you have a masticating juicer or high powered blender, that can turn them into an edible banana nice freeze.
I usually use my bananas for smoothies. If you are using frozen bananas make sure to use a high powered blender because you will break your blender with ice/frozen food if it is not high-powered. If you want extra sweetness or flavor try the following ingredients:

 3. Coconut Sugar or Sucanat (Organic or Non-GMO Project Verified to avoid GMOs, and Fair-trade, because sugar is often harvested with slave-labor.) By the way, all cane sugar is non-GMO. Sugar beets are GMO, however.

Refined white sugar is bad for your health because it takes nutrition away from your body to digest. Try to get the darkest sugar possible, that's palatable. I just list the BEST (most nutritious) options.

Grow your own food, too! 
It might be cold in the winter, but if you start early- you May get a good harvest!

This is my diet in La Veta. I tweak everything so that I get less than 1g of salt a day for minimal salt-retention (or water weight). I also make sure to keep my fat intake below 1/3 an avocado a day- or under 10g of overt fats. As you can see, I don't eat higher-protein foods because I get plenty of protein from just EATING (read my blog post about getting enough protein while vegan HERE) and it actually adds fat to your body when eaten regularly. I'm not perfect, though, sometimes I will have a can of Natural Directions Organic Chili Beans! Also, you may eat more avocados if you aren't planning on doing any strenuous physical activities. 

I hope you learn from my example- and can try out the high-carb- high-energy, optimum cooked/raw vegan diet. Try eating fully raw, or transition to fully raw (fruits and vegetables only) with the aforementioned cooked foods. Remember to eat fruits before cooked foods to avoid candida overgrowth from the faster digesting fruits fermenting behind the slower-to-digest cooked foods.
